Amy Kitcher wants the new speaker to end the Victorian Gentleman's Club culture in Parliament

Local Lib Dem campaigner, Amy Kitcher, has called for the new speaker of the House of Commons to change the culture of Parliament.

Amy was interviewed for BBC Radio Wales' Good Morning Wales programme. Asked what her priority would be if she was the new speaker, Amy said, "The first thing I'd want to do is get away from this tired old image of Parliament as being a Victorian gentleman's club."

Amy also talked about the impact of the MPs expenses scandal on a prospective MP. Amy said, "People automatically think that you must be in it for the money or you've got some reason other than just wanting to do good for other people. I think that has been really damaging for politics."
